The Maya Angelou Family Contact Service provides supervised and supported contact to families with looked after children. They recently moved to a brand new purpose-built facility.
To complete an extensive mechanical installation at the contact centre. Within the new design was a heating system consisting of 30 low surface temperature radiators fed from two 30 kw Worcester boilers, a megaflo cylinder and a mains booster pump for the hot and cold water supplies. The hot and cold water supplies fed the new kitchen sinks, female, male, child and disabled WC’s.
We were under a very tight schedule to get all work completed within the time scale whilst working around other trades. The system design was incorrect and no mechanical specification was issued so we had to make changes before any more work was able to start.
The system design was followed correctly and all work completed on time. Health and safety was followed closely to make sure no injuries occurred throughout the job.
The ODM lads worked extremely hard throughout the job to finish it on time for the client.
