What is a Heat Interface Unit (HIU) and why do I need one?

An HIU is often used in multi-occupancy buildings (like apartment blocks) connected to a central boiler plant or district heating network. It acts like a combi-boiler for each individual unit, transferring heat from the central pipes to the apartment’s heating and hot water system. It allows for individual metering and control without the need for gas pipes in every room.

Can you upgrade my old office heating system without replacing all the pipework?

In many cases, yes. We can often retain existing distribution pipework and radiators while upgrading the central plant room to high-efficiency modern boilers or adding a low-loss header to improve performance. We always conduct a full survey first to ensure your existing infrastructure is sound.

Is underfloor heating suitable for a commercial office?
