Why Choose ODM?

Indoor Air Quality Focus

Poor air quality affects productivity and health. We design systems that effectively filter pollutants and ensure adequate fresh air exchange, keeping your workforce healthy.

Energy Recovery Experts

We focus on sustainability. Our ventilation designs prioritise heat recovery (MVHR), helping you lower your heating bills by recycling thermal energy that would otherwise be lost.

Custom Ductwork Solutions

No two buildings are the same. We can fabricate and install bespoke ductwork routes to fit tight ceiling voids or exposed industrial aesthetics, ensuring a perfect fit every time.

Regulatory Compliance

Ventilation rules are strict (especially post-pandemic). We ensure your system fully complies with Part F of the Building Regulations and TR19 standards for cleanliness and fire safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

MVHR stands for Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery. Instead of just extracting stale air and pumping in cold fresh air (which you then have to heat), an MVHR unit uses a heat exchanger to transfer warmth from the outgoing air to the incoming air. This means you get fresh air without losing your building’s heat, significantly lowering energy bills.

To comply with TR19 standards and insurance requirements, ventilation systems should be inspected annually. Kitchen extraction systems require much more frequent cleaning (often every 3-6 months) depending on usage, due to the accumulation of grease which poses a significant fire risk.

Often, yes. Opening windows is not always practical (noise, weather, pollution) or sufficient to reach the required air change rates for a busy office. Modern Building Regulations (Part F) require adequate fresh air supply to prevent CO2 build-up, which can cause drowsiness and poor productivity. Mechanical ventilation ensures this standard is met constantly.
